How Soon Do You Need Our Services?

No pressure, no obligation. We never share your details.

Made on site

We cut each gutter to the exact length of your wall, in your driveway, on the day.

We check the wood first

New gutters should not go on a board that has been soaking wet for two winters.

Straight answers on guards

Worth it under big trees. A waste of money on an open yard. We will tell you which one you have.

The Problem

Do your gutters overflow even when they are clean?

Then leaves are not the problem. Something else is.

Dayton gets 41 inches of rain a year, and it does not fall evenly. A summer storm can drop an inch in twenty minutes, and your roof sends all of it to one corner. Three things go wrong from there. The gutter may not slope enough, so water sits in it. It may be too small, so water pours over the front. Or the downspout may empty right next to the wall, which does not solve anything. It just moves the water into your basement.

  • We set the slope with a string line, not by eye
  • We put downspouts where the water actually lands, and fit guards only where they earn it
  • We check the wood behind the gutter before we hang anything

Why Us

Water off the roof and away from the house

That is the whole job. The second half matters as much as the first, and it is the half most quotes never mention.

01

We make them in your driveway

We roll flat aluminum into gutter on site and cut it to your exact length. A 43-foot wall gets one 43-foot gutter, with joins only at the corners.

02

We look behind the old gutter

If a gutter has overflowed for two winters, the wood board behind it is often rotten. New gutters should not be hung on soft wood.

03

Honest advice on guards

Under big trees, guards mean you clean every few years instead of every year. That is the honest claim, and we will not stretch it any further.

The Difference

Why we check more than just the gutter

When a gutter overflows, the gutter is usually not the real problem. Maybe it does not slope enough. Maybe there are too few downspouts for the size of the roof. Or maybe the wood behind it has gone soft and the brackets have pulled loose. Putting up a new gutter fixes none of those, and that is the most common reason people call us after someone else has already been out.

So we look at the roof above the gutter, the slope of the gutter, where the water leaves it, and the wood behind it. Then we price the thing that is actually wrong. Now and then that costs less than what you called us about.

Drainage matters more in some towns than others. On the river corridor in West Carrollton, and down in Miamisburg, where the water goes after the downspout is a structural question rather than a detail.

Gutter work takes us all over the valley. The towns we cover are listed in full, and there is no travel charge inside that area.

How It Works

How a gutter job runs

Most Dayton houses are measured, made and finished in one day.

  1. 1

We measure the roof, not just the gutter

How long each wall is, how many corners, and how much roof drains into each downspout. That is what decides the size.

  2. 2

We check the wood behind it

We find a soft board now, not halfway through the job. If it changes the price, you hear that before you say yes.

  3. 3

We make and hang them the same day

Cut to length in your driveway, then hung to a string line so the slope is right, then the downspouts go on.

  4. 4

    We run water through it

Before we leave, so you can watch it drain and see exactly where the water ends up.

What Dayton homeowners say

We had a leak over the back bedroom for almost two years and kept putting a bucket under it. The team found the problem in about ten minutes. It turned out to be the flashing around the chimney, not the shingles. They fixed it that same afternoon. I wish we had called sooner.

We had a full tear-off on our 1950s ranch. The crew arrived at 7 every morning and finished the job in three days. They even swept the entire driveway with a magnetic roller so our kids wouldn't pick up any nails. The final price was exactly what we were quoted.

After the hail last June, our insurance company questioned whether the damage was from the storm or simply the age of the roof. The team inspected everything, took detailed photos, and joined the call with our adjuster. The claim was approved. I don't think we would have managed it on our own.

Good work at a fair price. I gave four stars because our job had to be pushed back a week due to rain, and I had already taken the day off. They did call ahead and kept us informed instead of simply not showing up, which I appreciated.

A tree came down on our garage roof at around nine at night. Someone actually answered the phone, which I wasn't expecting. They had the roof tarped before midnight and came back the following week for the permanent repair. Great response when we needed help.

We had new seamless gutters and gutter guards installed around the whole house. They made the gutters right there on site, which I hadn't seen before. We've had two heavy storms since the installation and nothing has overflowed onto the patio. That was exactly the problem we wanted fixed.

I booked a roof inspection expecting to hear that we needed a full replacement because that's what the previous two companies told us. After inspecting it, they said our roof probably had about five years left and told us to call back when the time came. They didn't charge us for the inspection. That honesty is why they'll get the job when we eventually replace it.

This is the second time we've used them. They installed our gutters a couple of years ago, and we recently hired them again for a full roof replacement. We even had the same crew leader both times. The quote was clearly itemized, so we could see exactly what we were paying for, including the wood underneath repairs.

More about Gutter Services in Dayton

Dayton gets 41 inches of rain a year

That number is what decides whether your gutters work. Forty-one inches of rain and twenty-three inches of snow, and most of it arrives in bursts rather than a little at a time. Gutters that are too small, or that do not slope enough, do not fail slowly here. They overflow in the first heavy storm, and then they keep doing it.

The fault is usually not the gutter itself. It is what happens at the ends. Downspouts empty right against the foundation, or the joins between short gutter sections split apart after a few winters of freezing and thawing. Both are installation problems more often than gutter problems. That is the case for seamless gutters: one continuous piece cut to the length of your wall, with joins only at the corners.

What we install and repair

Seamless aluminum gutters made on site, gutter guards, downspouts and splash blocks. We also do gutter repairs when repairing makes more sense than replacing. And we replace rotten fascia and soffit. The fascia is the wood board your gutters hang from, and a gutter that has been overflowing for two winters has usually rotted it.

If your roof needs work anyway, doing both jobs together saves setting up twice. It also means the roof edge and the gutter line are finished as one piece of work instead of two. Worth asking about if you are already thinking about a new roof.

About gutter guards

They help, but not as much as the ads say. If your house sits under big maples or oaks, which describes a lot of older Dayton streets, guards mean you clean the gutters every few years instead of every year. They do not end cleaning for good. Fine grit and small bits still get through and still need washing out, and anyone who tells you otherwise is overselling.

Frequently asked questions

What is the average cost of replacing gutters in Ohio?

Most Dayton houses cost between $1,200 and $3,000 for new seamless aluminum gutters. What moves the price is how many feet you need, how many corners and downspouts, and whether the wood behind the old gutters has to be replaced first. Guards cost extra.

How much for gutters on a 2,000 square foot house?

A 2,000 square foot house usually needs about 180 to 220 feet of gutter once you go all the way around, which puts it in the middle of that $1,200 to $3,000 range. A two-story house often needs less gutter than a ranch of the same size, because the ground floor is smaller.

What is the best time of year to replace gutters?

Spring or early fall. Avoid deep winter, when the ground is frozen and sealant will not set properly. Also avoid the two weeks right after the leaves come down, when every gutter company in the Miami Valley is booked. If your roof is due work too, doing both at once is the cheapest time of all.

How often should gutters be cleaned in Ohio?

Twice a year if you have big trees. Once after the leaves fall, once in spring. The fall clean matters more here. A gutter full of wet leaves going into a Dayton winter freezes solid, and the ice does damage that the leaves never would.

Can gutters cause roof damage?

Yes, and it is the damage people spot last. When gutters block or overflow, water backs up under the edge of the roof. That rots the wood at the roof edge and the board behind the gutter. By the time you see a mark on a ceiling, you are usually paying to fix the roof edge as well as the gutter.
